August 7, 2023A notice from UHC regarding a proposed change to payment rate has started to surface from those in Anesthesia. Though it has not been confirmed that this is a nationwide change, due to the timeliness of decision-making, we are sharing this information and notice here. In addition, we would like to emphasize that groups should verify to which services the 2020 MCR rate will pertain.
If you are participating with UHC, please check all communications including written, electronic, and physical portals, to verify if your practice will be impacted by this change, effective October 1, 2023.
The notice states that “This change will be effected through a unilateral amendment which does not require the practice’s acceptance or acknowledgment.”
If you received and reviewed the proposed fee changes and do not agree with the changes, you must submit written notice of the termination of your UHC agreement in its entirety within 30 days of the date of the letter – most were dated June 30, 2023.
