Get to Know Kayla Lee

After working as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Kayla Lee joined the ACE team in November 2014. Since joining the team, she has been instrumental in the coding and auditing department.

At a young age, Kayla saw herself becoming an optometrist because of her love for glasses. However, after mentorship from ACE President Devona Slater, she was called to coding and auditing. Now almost 9 years later, Kayla is passionate about the industry and continues to be impressed with the ACE team and their wealth of dedication and knowledge about the anesthesia community. Shortly after joining the team, she obtained a Certified Professional Coding (CPC) certification and started working with auditors and coders.

For Kayla, it’s all about teamwork and culture. She loves the people on the ACE team and the different personalities and skills they each bring to the table.

While Kayla’s family and friends would use fun, bold and loud to describe her, in the workplace, Kayla strives to lead with trust. She believes that scheduling time throughout the week allows for creativity and critical thinking.

Outside of work, Kayla enjoys listening to all kinds of music, trying new coffee shops, going on road trips and taking her dog Opal for a ride in the truck. If she had to pick, spring would be her favorite season because it means pastel M&Ms are on the shelves again. Kayla’s true love language is chips and salsa, and she loves Mexican food or anything spicy with delicious flavor and green chilies. 

Reflecting back, Kayla would tell her high school self to never say never. You never know what opportunities may come your way, so keep an open mind and always follow your natural instincts.
