Susan West, RHIT - Sr. Compliance Auditor
Susan West is a strong ally to physicians and coding/billing staff with more than 30 years of experience with both hospital and physician billing. Ms. West has applied her expertise to the health care industry with specializing in coding and reimbursement in Anesthesia and Pain Management. She has extensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid coding/billing requirements and policies. Ms. West has assisted many practices in understanding coding concepts and applying the numerous rules and regulations to coding compliance. She has opened communications between providers and billing staff to better enhance documentation, correct coding, reimbursement and collections.
Susan received her designation as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) through the American Health and Information Management Association in September 1978. As required by the Association to continue her certification, she pursues 20 hours of continuing education.
She has been employed with Auditing for Compliance and Education, Inc. as a compliance auditor since 1999. Responsibilities include audit of documentation, providing reports and recommendations to ensure proper payments according to policies and procedures. Additional duties include coding supervisor to ACE coding staff providing an active role in development of training and compliance. Her assets include attention to detail and documentation.
