Debbie Farmer is a strong ally to physicians, coding/billing staff and patients.  She has more than twenty-five years of experience with both hospital and physician billing.  She has a practical approach to compliance and believes communication to be a vital tool in today’s environment.

Ms. Farmer has worked as a compliance consultant with ACE, Inc. since 2000. She has previously worked as a billing supervisor overseeing the daily operations of an anesthesia/pain management group.  The part of her job that she enjoys the most is educating physicians in documentation requirements and Medicare coding/billing policies.  She has extensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements and policies.  Even though Ms. Farmer has ten years of experience in hospital billing, she has found the challenge of anesthesia/pain auditing and billing her true passion.

She is a proud member of American Academy of Professional Coders and has served as president-elect and president of the local chapter.  As the chapter president, her responsibilities included providing presentations for continuing education credits to members.  She has also served as a proctor for the AAPC exams which help other coders to receive their certification. 

Ms. Farmer received her designation as a Certified Professional Coder by the American Academy of Professional Coders in 1998.  As required by the Academy to continue her certification, she pursues eighteen hours of continuing education every year.  She received her Advanced Coding Specialist for Anesthesia designation through the Board of Advanced Medical Coding’s certification process in 2006.
