Dr. James Mallow is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and practiced anesthesia and pain management in Kansas City, Missouri. Currently, Dr. Mallow serves as a compliance auditor and medical director for ACE.  His primary role with ACE is working with groups in the evaluation of hospital stipends.  Many times groups find that having an ally on their side speaking objectively to the hospital works well in the negotiation process.  He also assists auditors in interpreting medical records as well as instruction on medical documentation. 

Mallow obtained his medical degree from the University of Colorado in 1967.  He did an internship at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota from 1967 to 1968.  After serving in the Air Force as Commander of Attachment Four, First Medical Service Wing from 1968 to 1971, he entered a fellowship program in anesthesia at the Mayo Clinic.  In 1974 he moved to Kansas City and began working at St. Luke's Hospital as Medical Director of Respiratory Therapy and Critical Care Medicine.  He was Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at St. Joseph Health Center from 1979 to 1998.  From 1990 to 1994 Mallow served as the Medical Director of the St. Joseph Pain Clinic, and from 1995 to 2001 he was the President of HealthNet Physician Partners.  Dr. Mallow has retired from private practice and truly enjoys helping groups with hospital relationships through consulting.
