Debbie Farmer, CPC, ACS-AN, is a nationally recognized consultant and speaker with more than 25 years of experience with both hospital and physician billing and coding.  Ms. Farmer has worked as a Compliance Consultant with ACE since 2000.  She has a practical approach to compliance that makes her a valuable resource to physicians, practice managers, coders, and billing personnel across the country.

Prior to working for ACE, Farmer was the Billing Manager at an anesthesia and pain management practice for 10 years.  In this role she was responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the practice as well as meeting compliance and performance objectives. She has developed an extensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirements and policies that she utilizes in her daily activities at ACE.

She is a respected and proud member of the American Academy of Professional Coders and has served as President-elect and President of her local chapter.  As the Chapter President, she provided presentations for continuing education credits to members.  She has also served as a proctor for the AAPC exams which help other coders to receive their certification.  She also heads up ACE's Mentoring Program for coders.

Ms. Farmer received her designation as a Certified Professional Coder by the American Academy of Professional Coders in 1998.  She received her Advanced Coding Specialist for Anesthesia designation through the Board of Advanced Medical Coding’s certification process in 2006 and presently serves on the Anesthesia Advisory Board for this organization.  She currently serves as the Technical Editor for Decision Health's Anesthesia and Pain Management Coder's Pink Sheets.
